TDSO’s Teacher Training Program to Lead the Way Across Cambodia

Mr Puthy Kan, Deputy Director of Primary Education Department, Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, making the announcement of the pilot project

We are thrilled to announce a momentous achievement in the field of education in Cambodia as the Ministry of Education has chosen TDSO’s Teacher Training Program to serve as the pioneering pilot for continuous professional development (CPD) for English teachers in rural areas of Siem Reap province. This selection marks a crucial milestone in TDSO’s journey to become the lead provider of accredited CPD for English and STEM teachers, not only in Siem Reap but also as a model for the entire country.

TDSO’s baseline belief, “Every child has the right to a trained teacher,” is at the core of this transformative initiative. With a strong commitment to quality education for all, TDSO aims to empower teachers with the skills and knowledge needed to create a nurturing and empowering learning environment for every student.

Having successfully impacted 48 teachers from 30 schools in the initial phase, TDSO has been entrusted with the responsibility to extend this transformational project across the entire Siem Reap province. This expansion comes as a result of the resounding success and positive impact witnessed in the first pilot phase. Serving as a model for the entire country, this ambitious endeavor is poised to revolutionize education on a national scale.

The significance of this collaboration goes beyond regional boundaries. By focusing on public primary school teachers in rural areas, TDSO and the Ministry of Education are addressing a vital aspect of education inequality that resonates throughout the country. Bridging the training gap for educators in remote regions will pave the way for a more equitable and inclusive education system nationwide.

Through TDSO’s comprehensive and innovative teacher training program, these educators will be empowered with the latest teaching methodologies, language skills, and STEM knowledge. As a result, students in Siem Reap province will benefit from a more engaging and enriching learning experience, setting a benchmark for academic excellence across Cambodia.

At TDSO, we are committed to driving positive change in education and look forward to inspiring progress nationwide. We extend our gratitude to the Ministry of Education for recognizing the value of our program and entrusting us with this extraordinary opportunity to shape the future of education in Cambodia.

As we embark on this transformative journey, TDSO remains dedicated to making a lasting impact on Cambodia’s education landscape, one teacher at a time. Together, let us build a brighter future for the children of Cambodia and foster a generation of inspired learners and leaders, igniting change for the entire community.
