Meet Hong, an English teacher who faced teaching challenges at We Care Cambodia, a community school located 55 kilometres from Siem Reap town.
“Before, my students would just open the book and take notes, but they didn’t interact. Now, they’re speaking, discussing, and truly learning English,” he shares.
Before joining TDSO, Hong struggled to engage his students and design effective lessons.
Now, Hong is not just a teacher but also an inspiration. His story exemplifies the impact of training teachers, creating a ripple effect that influences thousands of students across Cambodia.
The Interactive Teacher Training Program (ITTSR) annually supports 60 to 65 teachers from community schools, NGOs, and informal educational settings. Many of these teachers begin their careers with minimal training. Our intensive six-month training program equips them with practical teaching methodologies to transform their classrooms.
By shifting from traditional teaching methods to a fun and communicative way of teaching, we empower teachers like Hong to thrive in Cambodia’s diverse educational landscape.
Practical skills. Measurable impact.
