Expanding Access to Quality Education through Intensive Teacher Training

TDSO – Teacher Development Support Organisation launched Cohort 5 of the “Teaching-Learning Methodologies & English Language for Primary School Teachers” programme — a decentralised, in-service training initiative designed to strengthen the capacity of public primary school teachers in Cambodia.

This cohort is particularly impactful in the rural districts of Siem Reap, where 106 teachers are participating in this vital professional development programme.

The training is currently underway at three decentralised centres:
– Svay Leu District (Kulen Mountain): 18 teachers from 7 schools
– Banteay Srey District: 36 teachers from 18 schools
– Run Ta Ek Municipality: 52 teachers from 12 schools

Altogether, these teachers are engaging in a comprehensive programme focused on:
– English language proficiency
– Evidence-based pedagogy and teaching methodologies

These dedicated teachers will directly enhance the learning experiences of over 4,000 students in some of Siem Reap’s most remote communities. By investing in these teachers, we are contributing to the long-term enhancement of quality education in Cambodia.

This initiative underscores our commitment to sustainable educational development through practice-oriented training models that bring high-quality education within reach of underserved communities.

Investing in teachers means investing in long-term, systemic change.
