Job Announcement: English Language Trainers

TDSO is seeking qualified English language trainers to join the English For Teachers (EFT) Programme. These are full-time positions offering an opportunity to contribute directly to the professional development of primary school teachers across Cambodia.

About the Programme

The EFT Programme delivers structured English language courses to in-service primary school teachers, helping them build the communicative competence needed to teach English effectively in their classrooms. The programme is grounded in Communicative Language Teaching (CLT), with a learner-centred, interaction-focused approach. Trainers use a flipped classroom model alongside blended learning tools, including Moodle, and work within a Limited Resource Distance Teaching (LRDT) framework appropriate to Cambodian school contexts.

Courses run for 20 weeks (60 hours, 4 credits) and cover a structured syllabus from second language acquisition theory through to practical classroom language, giving instruction and assessment skills.

The Role

Trainers will be responsible for delivering EFT courses to groups of primary school teachers. This involves facilitating interactive sessions and workshops, supporting trainees through Moodle-based assignments and quizzes, conducting assessments (including midterm and final evaluations), and providing structured feedback to support teacher progress.

Location

Initial trainer onboarding and preparation will take place in Siem Reap. Following this, trainers will be based in their home province, delivering the EFT Programme to teachers in their local area. We welcome applications from candidates across Cambodia, not only from Siem Reap.

What We Are Looking For

Candidates should have a solid command of English (written and spoken), experience in English language teaching, and an understanding of, or willingness to develop competence in, Communicative Language Teaching methodology. Experience working with adult learners or in-service teachers is an advantage. Candidates should be comfortable using digital learning platforms. A bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s degree is an advantage. Fluency in Khmer is required.
