The success of teacher development is not measured by the training delivered, but by the learning that takes place in every classroom.
With this shared commitment, TDSO welcomed the Director of the Department of Teacher Development (DTD), Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, together with Directors and Teacher Trainers from 10 Provincial Teacher Training Colleges (PTTCs), for a professional learning visit in Siem Reap.
The visit provided an opportunity to experience TDSO’s teacher development model in action, following the journey from professional training to classroom implementation and student learning outcomes.
The delegation visited partner public schools where TDSO alumni demonstrated student-centred English teaching and observed students actively participating in lessons. They also visited the TDSO Practice School, where students confidently showcased their learning through interactive classroom activities, highlighting the positive outcomes of engaging teaching practices.
Throughout the visit, participants gained deeper insight into TDSO’s approach to teacher development. Beyond professional training, the organisation provides classroom mentoring, coaching, observation, and continuous professional support to help teachers strengthen their practice and sustain improvements over time.
The visit also created valuable opportunities for professional dialogue and knowledge exchange between TDSO, DTD, and PTTCs. By observing classroom implementation and discussing practical experiences, participants explored how collaboration can continue to strengthen teacher education and improve learning outcomes for children.
