About TDSO
Teacher Development Support Organisation (TDSO) is a Cambodian non-governmental organisation established in 2017. We work with the public education system to strengthen the English language proficiency and teaching skills of primary school teachers, supporting better English language learning for pupils.
Our programmes are delivered through structured teacher training, classroom coaching, professional development, and teaching and learning materials designed for schools with limited resources. As our programmes continue to grow, accurate and well-managed data is essential for programme planning, monitoring, reporting and decision-making.
About the Position
TDSO is looking for a Data Manager to take responsibility for the accuracy, completeness and timely management of the organisation’s monitoring and evaluation data.
The Data Manager will maintain TDSO’s authoritative datasets, carry out data-quality checks, manage data validation and produce accurate reports and data extracts for the M&E function and management.
The position will work closely with the M&E Coordinator. The Data Manager is responsible for maintaining reliable data and producing accurate information, while the M&E Coordinator focuses on interpreting the data and drawing conclusions for programme monitoring and reporting.
This role is particularly important because it involves managing data related to teachers, schools and pupils. The successful candidate must therefore demonstrate a strong commitment to data accuracy, confidentiality and responsible data management.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of TDSO’s M&E data.
- Maintain authoritative datasets covering teacher participation, teacher learning and pupil outcomes.
- Ensure datasets are properly linked by trainee, school and pupil.
- Apply data-entry standards and validation procedures, including required fields and programme codes.
- Conduct data cleaning, deduplication, validation and reconciliation.
- Accurately record structured assessment data, including test scores and grades.
- Conduct data-quality checks before figures are used in reports or other communications.
- Identify, report and resolve data-quality issues.
- Produce accurate reports, tables and data extracts from validated datasets.
- Respond to data requests from management and other authorised users.
- Maintain appropriate controls for data access, storage, confidentiality and retention.
- Comply with TDSO’s safeguarding and data-protection policies.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in information management, statistics, data science, computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Skills and Experience
Candidates should have:
- Demonstrated experience managing structured datasets and a CRM or relational database.
- Strong spreadsheet skills, including pivot tables.
- Experience with data cleaning, validation and reconciliation.
- Working knowledge of data-handling or analysis tools such as SQL, Power BI, Metabase, Power Query, Power Pivot, SPSS, R or Python.
- Strong attention to detail and a consistent focus on data accuracy.
- Ability to work according to reporting schedules and meet deadlines.
- Discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information.
- Experience with, or willingness to work with, platforms such as CiviCRM, Moodle, Gibbon or comparable systems.
