Beyond the Training Room: What Did LaoCYDA Discover at TDSO?
In early September, the Lao Children and Youth Development Association (LaoCYDA) management team visited TDSO Cambodia to experience our teacher development approach first-hand and explore how teacher training connects with classroom practice.
The visit provided an opportunity for the LaoCYDA team to observe TDSO’s approach beyond the training environment, including how teachers apply what they learn in their classrooms.
From Training to Practice
During their visit, the LaoCYDA team stepped into Cambodian classrooms to see TDSO-trained teachers putting their learning into practice. The classroom visits offered a closer look at how training approaches are reflected in day-to-day teaching and learning.
For the LaoCYDA team, the experience was also an opportunity to exchange perspectives with TDSO and consider how practical experience from Cambodia could inform teacher development work in Laos.
Learning Across Borders
The visit forms part of the growing collaboration between TDSO and LaoCYDA, bringing together experience from Cambodia and Laos to explore approaches to teacher development.
Rather than focusing only on what happens during training, the visit highlighted the importance of seeing how learning is applied in real classroom settings.
