Senior Teacher Trainer, Developer, and Coach

Position Overview

TDSO seeks a Senior Teacher Trainer, Developer, and Coach to lead professional development initiatives for teacher trainers across Cambodia. This role involves coaching TDSO staff, trainers in public teacher development institutions, and education professionals nationwide to enhance the national capacity for English language teacher training.

Key Responsibilities

National Training Program Development

  • Implement professional development curricula for teacher trainers nationwide
  • Establish standardised training methodologies and assessment frameworks for public and private institutions
  • Create performance evaluation tools and quality metrics applicable across diverse educational settings
  • Develop mentorship programs linking TDSO trainers with public institution counterparts

Multi-Institutional Coaching and Support

  • Provide individual coaching to TDSO teacher trainers and staff at public teacher development institutions
  • Conduct performance evaluations and improvement planning across partner organisations
  • Lead professional development sessions for mixed cohorts of public and private sector trainers
  • Support institutional capacity building in coaching competencies

National Program Quality and Innovation

  • Research current methodologies in teacher training and adult education for national implementation
  • Develop training modules for English language pedagogy adaptable to various institutional contexts
  • Conduct program evaluations across multiple institutions and implement systematic improvements
  • Ensure alignment with national education standards and policies

Strategic Partnerships and Coordination

  • Collaborate with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport on teacher trainer development initiatives
  • Maintain relationships with international education organisations and donor agencies
  • Represent TDSO and partner institutions at national and international conferences
  • Coordinate professional development networks between public teacher development institutions
  • Develop educational resources for national distribution

Required Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • Fluency in English and Khmer (written and oral)
  • Master’s degree in Education, TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in educational leadership, coaching, or institutional development
  • Demonstrated experience developing and delivering professional development programs at scale
  • Knowledge of English language teaching methodologies and adult learning principles
  • Experience working with government institutions or public sector education

Preferred Qualifications

  • International teaching certifications (CELTA, DELTA, or equivalent)
  • Experience in the NGO, development sector, or public-private partnerships
  • Background in program evaluation, quality assurance, and institutional capacity building
  • Deep knowledge of Cambodia’s education system and teacher development infrastructure
  • Experience in multi-institutional coordination and network development
