How can teachers effectively support learners with different levels, abilities, and learning styles in the same language classroom? Join Ian Walkinshaw, Senior Lecturer at Griffith University, Brisbane, Australia, for a practical online workshop on differentiated instruction. Participants will explore practical strategies for identifying learner needs, adapting content and materials, working with mixed-ability groups, and responding to different learning styles. The session will provide teachers with practical approaches they can apply directly in their language classrooms to support more effective and inclusive learning.

TDSO is piloting its first EdTech and AI for Teachers course, bringing together 73 teachers across three training centres in Siem Reap Province to explore how technology and artificial intelligence can strengthen classroom practice. Now halfway through the six-month programme, trainees are actively testing digital tools, sharing experiences, and building practical skills. The pilot will help TDSO refine the course and develop a sustainable approach that responds to teachers’ needs while supporting the future of teacher development in Cambodia.

The best investment in education isn’t a building or a textbook. It’s a well-prepared teacher. TDSO joined the graduation ceremony of 119 student trainees at the Siem Reap Provincial Teacher Training College (PTTCSR), celebrating a shared commitment to preparing Cambodia’s future teachers. Through its partnership with PTTCSR, TDSO delivered the English Teaching Methodology component of the pre-service programme, equipping graduates with practical, student-centred teaching approaches as they begin their professional careers.

The Director of the Department of Teacher Development, Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, together with Directors and Teacher Trainers from 10 Provincial Teacher Training Colleges, visited TDSO in Siem Reap to experience how teacher development is translated into classroom practice. The visit showcased TDSO’s approach to professional development, classroom mentoring, and continuous support through school visits, classroom observations, and the TDSO Practice School.

TDSO and the Lao Child and Youth Development Association (LaoCYDA) have signed a Partnership Agreement to support English teacher development in Lao PDR. Inspired by TDSO’s experience working with public school teachers in Cambodia, LaoCYDA will fully own and lead the programme, adapting it to the local education context. TDSO will provide training approaches, resources, capacity building, and technical guidance, supporting a locally led model designed to respond to the needs of teachers, schools, and communities in Laos.

TDSO and Siem Reap Provincial Teacher Training Centre (PTTC-SR) met on 10 July 2026 to review their ongoing collaboration and identify priorities for strengthening teacher education. Discussions focused on continued English teaching methodology training for new teacher trainees, support for the PTTC Practice School, the co-development of English language assessment tools and technical resources, and follow-up support for graduates. The meeting reaffirmed both organisations’ shared commitment to improving pre-service teacher education and institutional quality.

TDSO is pleased to welcome two new team members, Mr Ly Lon, who joins us as an English Language Trainer, and Mr Chheng Pha, our new Content Developer. Their skills and experience will strengthen our programmes and support the continued delivery of quality teacher development initiatives. We are excited to have them on board and look forward to the contributions they will make as we continue working together to support teachers and improve learning opportunities. We wish Lon and Pha every success in their new roles at TDSO.
